We are continuing our journey of expanding and diversifying our business and we are seeking a highly ambitious and motivated Business Development Manager to drive sales and expand our market presence in the Salt sector. Our diverse product range serves multiple industries, including road maintenance, water technology, purification, food preservation, animal feed & pharmaceutical industries.

Role Overview :
This stand-alone role requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen who can identify new market opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and expand our reach into key sectors.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement a business development strategy for the Salt Category, aligning with company objectives.
  • Manage and expand relationships with existing customers leading to sales growth.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, with new customers, focused on predefined target sectors within Ireland.
  • Develop solutions, pursue new product innovation that drives profitable sales, enhance value & grow margin.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the business and identify potential opportunities, partners.
  • Identify and pursue acquisition opportunities, that complement existing Salt business (including adjacent, synergistic opportunities)
  • Collaborate with existing sales teams & proactively engage other functions

Requirements :

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development, sales, or procurement role, preferably within the salt, chemicals, or related industrial sectors.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the salt industry, including supply chain dynamics, key suppliers, and customer needs across multiple sectors.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to develop and execute strategic growth plans.
  • Networking & Relationship Building: Strong ability to foster long-term partnerships with both suppliers and customers.
  • Market Expansion Skills: Previous experience in entering new markets, in the food or pharmaceutical sector, would be advantageous.
  • Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation skills with an ability to influence and close deals. Clear and concise communicator.
  • Flexibility & Initiative: Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a stand-alone role while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Full Clean Valid Driving Licence
