Based in our Cork office, this role is ideal for a driven professional with experience in retail, hardware or related sectors. As a Category Manager, you will shape and execute strategic initiatives to optimise product portfolios, engage customers, and build and develop market presence. This role includes responsibilities in market analysis, supplier management, product planning, pricing strategy, promotional activities, and more. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of market dynamics and a proven track record in category management.

Responsibilities :

Category Strategy Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy in alignment with organisational objectives, that drives innovation, sales & profitable growth.

Market Insight:
Monitor market dynamics, consumer behaviour and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities/risks and inform portfolio decisions and strategies.

Category Performance:
Utilise data-driven insights to track category performance against targets and forecast future trends.Monitor and analyse category performance metrics, including sales, margin, and cost, to identify opportunities for improvement.

Range & Assortment
Drive range strategy and product innovation. Collaborate with suppliers to curate diverse and high-quality product ranges that resonate with customer preferences. Pursue value added & exclusive product ranges.

Pricing:
Develop and implement pricing strategy informed by market dynamics in line with margin ambition & competitive position. Analyse pricing trends and competitive landscapes to determine optimal price file.

Promotions:
Develop compelling promotional campaigns to drive sales and enhance customer engagement. Measure the effectiveness of promotions and refine strategies to optimise results.

Procurement:
Develop procurement strategy & procurement processes. Negotiate favourable terms and agreements with suppliers, always negotiating to achieve lowest cost.

Inventory:
Implement inventory (stock) optimisation strategy & process / balancing customer demand, sales opportunity and cost considerations.

Supplier Management:
Develop supplier strategies that support category goals. Target mutually beneficial partnerships.
Foster strategic relationships with suppliers to enhance category performance.

Customer Engagement:
Engage customer to understand their needs and preferences. Leverage insight to enhance customer solutions. Implement customer-centric initiatives that drive category growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with sales teams to ensure alignment on sales activities. Work with finance teams to analyse category performance, forecast sales, and manage budgets.  Coordinate with Operations teams to optimise inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of products.

Channel:
Maximise wholesale, trade, retail channels dependent on portfolio. 

Team:

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience (7-10 years) in category management, preferably within the wholesale or retail industries.
  • Ability to develop and manage the End-to-End customer offer (Range, Price, Promotions)
  • In-depth understanding of Irish market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape.

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with automated accounts payable solutions is desirable. (Intact IQ &/or EI Trax a distinct advantage)

Key Responsibilities :

As an IT Analyst / System Administrator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimising our IT systems.

Daily duties include:

  • Deskside Support: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • User & System Management: Administer Active Directory and Azure AD to manage user accounts, group policy and security settings.
  • Network Management: Troubleshoot and maintain the internal network and telephone system across three sites and remote users.
  • Security & Compliance: Monitor and update the companies threat protection and ensure data protection compliance with GDPR.
  • Software & Systems: Maintain the various business critical systems including Microsoft 365, Azure and Remote Access, Intact IQ ERP and other software which is used within the company (experience with Intact is desirable but not essential).
  • Hardware & Break/Fix Issues: Oversee hardware upgrades, troubleshoot printers, and address routine maintenance issues.
  • Drive Mapping & Connectivity: Configure drive mappings and ensure seamless access for all users.
  • Documentation: Serve as Knowledge Base Coordinator, documenting IT processes and troubleshooting solutions.
  • Vendor Communication: Collaborate with 3rd-party vendors for system support and maintenance.

Qualifications :

  • Qualification in Business Information Systems (BIS) or Computer Science / IT Management or a related field.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users and manage vendor relations effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills :

Prior experience with Intact IQ ERP or other ERP sofware is a plus but is not essential as training will be provided.
