This role will be instrumental in providing essential administrative and operational support to our sales team, ensuring the smooth execution of sales processes and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset to work closely with sales representatives and contribute to the achievement of sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:

Sales Order Processing: Assist in the processing of sales orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Coordinate with internal departments, including logistics and finance, to facilitate order fulfilment and invoicing processes.

Track order statuses, resolve order-related issues, and communicate updates to customers and sales representatives.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with sales representatives to support their activities, including order processing, customer inquiries, and sales reporting.

Serve as a liaison between the sales team and other departments to coordinate efforts and address customer needs effectively.

Provide timely and accurate information to sales representatives to enhance their productivity and customer engagement efforts.

Market Insight: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to provide valuable insights to the sales team.

Assist in market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities and threats, informing strategic decision-making and sales strategies.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.

Handle customer complaints and escalations in a professional and timely manner, working to achieve positive outcomes and maintain customer loyalty.

Price Administration: Assist in the administration of pricing policies, discounts, and promotions, ensuring accuracy and consistency in pricing across sales transactions.

Collaborate with sales representatives and pricing analysts to implement pricing strategies that maximise profitability while remaining competitive in the market.

Customer Engagement: Engage with customers proactively to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback, fostering strong relationships and loyalty.

Assist in the development and execution of customer engagement initiatives, such as surveys, feedback mechanisms, and loyalty programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Prior experience in sales support, customer service, or related roles is advantageous.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CRM software is desirable.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred:

Experience in the sales or wholesale or retail industry.

Knowledge of sales processes, order management systems, and pricing strategies.

Demonstrated ability to analyse data and generate reports to support sales activities and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:

Support the head-of-department by assisting in the development and implementation of Procurement Strategy, aligned to the overall Category Strategy

Market insight:

Monitor market dynamics, industry developments, competitive landscape, emerging technologies, to identify opportunities, inform procurement decisions, mitigate risks.

Range management:

Manage product ranges within the portfolio, a competitive & innovative assortment.

Supply / fulfilment

Manage internal procurement processes (sales history, forecasting demand, purchase requisitions, stock purchase orders, stock transfers) as well as supply-chain considerations (capacity, constraints, lead times, delivery schedules) – to ensure material requirements are met ‘on time & in full’.

Inventory management

Optimise inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

Cost optimisation

Negotiate terms & conditions, price, request for proposals (RFP’s), request for quotation (RFQ’s), bid evaluations, delivery charge – to ensure optimal product cost.  

Price optimisation

Leverage market insight, understand competitiveness (price index), take on board sales team feedback, implement price management strategies to maximise profitability and competitiveness & optimise margin.

Performance management:

Utilise data-driven insights to track portfolio performance against target (sales, cost, margin, service, stock) and drive continuous improvement.

Supplier Management:

Collaborate with suppliers, build relationships. Drive availability, innovation, lowest cost & drive continuous improvement.

Customer Engagement:

Collaborate with suppliers, build relationships to deliver customer-centric initiatives and drive profitable growth.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate cross-functionally to understand requirements of the procurement function & drive portfolio success.

Purchasing administration

Carry out the necessary administration duties, (requisitions, stock orders, stock transfers, invoice matching, bid evaluations, credit notes other).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience at Senior Purchasing Management level (+3 years), preferably within wholesale or retail industries, preferably in the Irish market.
  • Strong procurement experience (including negotiation) with proven experience of optimising cost whilst a building and maintaining successful supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends, translate into insight to facilitate informed commercial decisions.
  • Strong communication, engagement & presentation skills.  Ability to engage stakeholders & influence positive outcomes. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with purchasing platforms and ERP systems.
  • Potential to develop strategic capabilities in the medium term.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage and develop the existing customer base and develop new and lasting business relationships.

Candidates should have a proven track record in direct field sales and ideally have experience in selling into the Hardware Merchant and DIY Trades. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be self-motivated and have the ability to negotiate with customers and buying groups at a senior level. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management

  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and motivate teams effectively
  • Competency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of health & safety and compliance regulations
  • Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
